Week 2: Running 100 miles in June

A lot has gone on in the last 2 weeks. I had a wicked fall on June 2nd and had to take 6 days off from running to recover. So essentially week 1 of June was a complete wash. I came back for week 2 and have been taking it pretty easy. Basically doing a run/walk for every run while I continue to heal. Week 2 was actually great. I’m starting to get back in the grove, I’m back on the track which is great, and I’m just falling in love with running again. Check out the video below to see what went down the last 2 weeks, and my plans on how I’m going to make this goal of running 100 miles in June.

Day 1: 100 miles of June

Day 1: 100 miles of June

Since Covid-19 hit us like a ton of bricks, my running totally fell off. In March I had 22.6 miles, April was a dismal 9.6 miles, in May I had a slight comeback at 39.3 miles, and for June I’m setting the bar high with a goal of 100 miles. Today is day 1 of my quest do increase my mileage, and loose a couple of pounds while I’m at it.

So today’s stats 4.5 miles, and 158 lbs. ?

LONDON MARATHON TRAINING | Week 8 | The dreaded TREADMILL LONG RUN | DISINFECTING gym equipment

This week wasn’t the best training wise, and that is bound to happen over a 16 week training cycle. Due to pretty cold temps in New York, I was forced to hit the treadmill, or what runners like to call it, the dreadmill! Check out what I’m up to at the halfway mark of London Marathon training!

LONDON MARATHON TRAINING Week 7 | RUNNING 10 MILES on the TRACK | GLOSSIER NYC | YOGA FOR RUNNERS

Week 7 of marathon training…..better late than never! Yes I’ll be posting week 8 tomorrow, so this blog is late AF, but better late than never!

This week I feel like I am getting my groove back! I had a nice relaxing run on the track with some unusually warm New York City weather. Switched over to my girlie side and picked up some cosmetics, fell more in love with Yoga, and of course I put some time in with my run crew. Looking forward to maintaining this groove in week 8! LONDON MARATHON TRAINING Week 6 | Visiting the KOBE BRYANT MEMORIAL | RUNNING BROOKLYN | TEMPO RUN

Week 6 of marathon training was a goodie. Particularly because I did a running tour through Brooklyn with my running group for Black History Month-Day-Year. That’s right, it’s not just a single month for us, it’s our life!

Running through Fort Greene Park, seeing Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, great African American Museums, churches, the Barclay Center, and the Kobe Bryant Memorial which was so beautiful and sad to see at the same time. Growing up in the Bronx, all I knew was Harlem, and my family in Queens, so Brooklyn was never on my radar. It’s amazing to see all of the history it beholds.

This week was pretty dope, and I’m grateful that I was able to experience it. Check out the full video below, or CLICK HERE.

LONDON MARATHON TRAINING | Week 5 | Can an off week hurt YOUR MARATHON TRAINING? | Life of a Runner

Week 5 of training; Ever had a lazy week of running? Well that’s exactly what this week was for me. I only got in 2 runs this week, and although I’m off of my training schedule, I felt strong during both runs, and that’s a win for me! Check out the visuals below from this week, and let me know if you’ve ever been off your training schedule, and how you’ve recovered.
